ABOUT Sid Webb

My formal training is in art, however, in recent years I have spent more and more time with my camera.

New acquaintances often inquire of me, "Oh, you're an artist. What's your specialty?" I have to admit that's always been a difficult question for me and I usually stumble around trying to answer it.

The truth is that I am interested in all media and processes, and even at this late stage of my career I haven't settled on just one or two and focused my energies on them.

I am proficient with the standard tools of the trade: oil paint, watercolor, pens-and-ink, etching, and serigraphy. Early on I shot B&W photos and printed them in a darkroom. When I started working for publications I shot slides almost exclusively.

I use digital camera exclusively now. I find digital tools to be tremendously exciting and I have explored them intensively.

Most of my work displayed on this site was touched in one way or another by digital technology.

This Webb site is a gallery of some of my photographic work and is a work in progress Take a look around and come back from time to time to see what's new..
