Ice House
This is an ice house on the grounds of the historic Henry Clay estate in Lexington, KY. The building was filled with ice during the winter that was hauled from nearby streams. The floor of the building is 10 to 12 feet under ground. The ice melted slowly and provided a constant supply of cold water to chill food during the summer.
